The day started out a bit gray
Our banners were draped to greet everyone at the clubhouse
Golfers began to arrive right on schedule
Eddie, the FFCAS mascot, was also on hand
As were Mattie and Tex, two adoptable dog from the shelter in a playful mood
Volunteers were ready to check everyone in
Gotta' love that hat!
Inside the clubhouse, lunch was served.
Outside the Putting Contest was underway
And golfers were practicing their drives.
The carts were lined up and ready to roll.
Eddie joined us for lunch.
The Putting Contest enters its final round.
The judge watches the ball roll towards the hole.
This was an easy one to measure ... and ended up being the winning putt.
Congrats to our winner!
Getting ready to start the tournament.
A word from our President, accompanied/supervised by Eddie.
Tex says "bye" before heading back to the shelter.
And little Mattie gets a hug before she goes back.
Off we go!
Our first hole sponsor.
We had a few pets sponsor holes, too.
Now the rain gear has come out.
Yep, it's raining.
Eddie's safe and dry on the beverage cart.
But our intrepid golfers refuse to be daunted..
Wet, but still playing!
More pet sponsors.
Understatement of the day ;-)
These golfers are really determined people.
And still able to laugh in the downpour.
This is dedication to one's sport.
Not even using a raincoat!!
OK, this is getting ridiculous. A whirpool on the side of the path.
The hole-in-one sponsor ... and that nice, dry clubhouse in the background.
We give up! The rain wins. Eddie snags an available lap.
Might as well check out the Silent Auction.
What to do with the un-won prizes?
Raffle them off!
And we might as well eat dinner early and call it a day :-)
